Stinky Dog

Image
Son was born in May of 2000. One of his gifts was this stuffed animal that we named Stinky Dog. I think it may have been in a basket of gifts from husband's work.  Son has had a journey. Son had some legal issues from 2015-2018. He then had a relationship that did not end well from 2019-2021. Son was out of the house for the majority of this time. Son has moved home temporarily to figure out his new path.  After moving son out from his apartment, he sorted through all his stuff and left his laundry in a pile. One of the items in the pile was Stinky Dog.  Stinky Dog went with him everywhere from the time he was 6 months to 21 years old. We had a Knuffle bunny episode where he left Stinky Dog at my brother's house and he needed to be one day shipped  back to us so Son could sleep.  Stinky Dog has lost his fluff and much of his stuffing and his eyes, ears and nose are chewed on so that they are no longer shiny. He has been repaired several times.   Stinky...

Daughter

I love my daughter. I traveled over 5,000 miles each way, two times, to bring her home from Russia. During those trips, I got over my fear of using a bathroom in an airplane because you cannot hold your bathroom urges for 16 hours over 3 time zones.  My daughter is strong, caring, sassy, determined, resilient, helpful, innovative, dependable, energetic, personable and lots of other adjectives that I cannot think of now.  She experienced the stay at home during Covid. She experienced lifting a hand out to help a friend up and having that hand bit off. She experienced a High School graduation party where the majority of people were friends and family of her parents. She graduated from High School in May 2021. She is moving towards adulthood. I am very proud.
According to Paul Simon,  There must be fifty ways to leave your love You just slip out the back, Jack Make a new plan, Stan You don't need to be coy, Roy Just get yourself free Hop on the bus, Gus You don't need to discuss much Just drop off the key, Lee And get yourself free Ooh, slip out the back, Jack Make a new plan, Stan You don't need to be coy, Roy You just listen to me Hop on the bus, Gus You don't need to discuss much Just drop off the key, Lee And get yourself free Our son is leaving his lover and moving on. He would prefer someone who works and contributes financially. He is so picky! He is waiting to get out of his lease so he can get himself free. 💔 This means he is living at home again. I did not kick the baby birds far enough out of the nest. We may just have to leave both children here, and move out ourselves. Daughter got a visit from a police officer last night. She was not here at the time so we forwarded her the message to stay out of a f...

"Explore, Dream, Discover" - Mark Twain

My journal activity for today was to dedicate to learning something new. This is not necessarily new, this is a completion of a task started in 2008. Better late than never! Some have suggested the idea of personal blogging. After contemplating the idea for the last 13 years, I have decided to venture forth and see what comes of it. I have no idea what I am doing or how to set this up so I am just going to Go before Ready and Set. I will be building this plane as I fly it. If it crashes and burns, I will hope to have a parachute to escape the inferno. Feeling a bit nervous but rather excited to be trying something new.
